About Us

Paton’s Transport was established in Koroit in 1977 by Doug Paton as a single truck operation carting a milk tanker for the Murray Goulburn milk factory.  In the 1980’s Doug’s son Jamie joined the business and over the years it grew to be one of the leading general freight companies in Southwest Victoria. 

These days the company is still very much in the Paton family, with Jamie the sole Director following the passing of Doug in 2024. Jamie is now also assisted by his own sons Chris and Wade, who both hold managerial positions at the Warrnambool depot.

Paton’s Transport now has over 40 years of experience in providing professional freight and distribution services. We take the transport of your freight very seriously and will make every effort to ensure your freight arrives as soon as possible and in perfect condition.

 

We are proud to offer a reliable local freight service to the community, and we carry out regular freight deliveries from Melbourne to Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Koroit, Allansford, Hamilton, Dunkeld, Casterton, Coleraine, Portland, Heywood, Mt Gambier, Colac, Mortlake, Terang, Camperdown, Cobden, Timboon, Simpson and many other towns in Southwest Victoria. 

We have a depot located in Truganina in the western suburbs of Melbourne which we service every day from Monday to Friday. Whether it is a full load or something much smaller please contact us and we will be happy to provide a quote.

Paton’s Transport is the agent in Southwest Victoria for Victorian Freight Specialists, who are a transport company based in Melbourne that distributes freight statewide for many large companies such as CUB, Bevchain, Sigma, Symbion and Australian Pharmaceutical Industries. We are also an onforwarder for numerous other transport companies such as Land Transport, Gilders Transport, Morrows Transport and Cahill’s Transport to name a few. 

While we have mostly moved away from interstate transport over the last few years to concentrate on our work between the Warrnambool region and the Melbourne region, we are currently still doing some interstate full load work between Warrnambool and Adelaide. Please contact us if you require any full loads to be transported between the Warrnambool region and the Melbourne or Adelaide regions, and we will do what we can to assist.

Paton’s Transport is accredited by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator in both their Mass Management and Maintenance Management schemes. We also have an experienced team of drivers and a fleet of approximately 30 vehicles and 45 trailers, ranging in sizes from B doubles and rigid trucks, right down to transit vans. All our rigid trucks have a tailgate loader, and in Warrnambool we have a forklift on a trailer that we can use to assist with deliveries.​

Our Melbourne depot is located in Truganina in the western suburbs of Melbourne, and it is a modern, B-Double friendly depot in a convenient location near the Princes Freeway.
